The New River Gorge National Park and Preserve encompasses 65,165 acres of scenic Appalachian terrain, which permits hunting and fishing, and 7,021 acres of parkland. Found within are the New River and its narrow gorge that wind through the Appalachian Mountains from Hinton to the New River Gorge Bridge (US 19) near Fayetteville.
